Here at Umech, we produce process piping, electrical and instrumentation services to assist in cutting-edge research and emerging technologies in medical and education sectors.

Our team is growing and we now have exciting opportunities for multiple Commissioning Technicians to join our team in Botany or Alexandria in inner Sydney and help us ensure the quality of our products are of the highest level. We are flexible and are open to both full-time and part-time (3 and 4 days a week).

Please note: due to the nature of our work and our clients, this role will involve regular travel to sites across Sydney.

Our newest Commissioning Technician

We hold ourselves to a standard of unfailing quality and in this role, you will be our boots on the ground, ensuring our systems meet specifications and are installed safely and correctly on site. You will be a crucial facilitator and assurance for that quality every day.

When it comes to the product itself, you will engage in a range of testing and checks, including:

  • Ensuring piping systems are effectively installed and fit for purpose.
  • Participating in Pressure testing, Helium testing of Water and Gas system testing.
  • Performance and function testing of instrumentation.
  • Materials inspections and testing.

From there, you will provide crystal-clear reporting and documentation and collaboratively problem-solve with our product and installation teams to ensure any faults or issues are quickly rectified.

What you will bring to the team

To thrive in this role, you will possess demonstrated experience working in a technical installation and quality assurance role, ideally in a technical or manufacturing setting. You will also have a strong understanding of the application and installation of technical products in production and other industry sectors.

You will be an intelligent and confident individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively communicate quality requirements to a wide range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.

Moreover, you will have a strong understanding of the Australian Standards for piping and electrical installations.
